This AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC position, is located in an Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Propulsion Element, (Jet Engine Intermediate Maintenance, (JEIM) and the Hush House)and is part of the CA 144 FW.

Duties
THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION.
The primary purpose of the AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC, WG-8602-8/10, is to certify acceptable performance, test, repair, trouble-shoot, operationally check and modify aircraft turbine and auxiliary power units, and associated propulsion system components.
May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

Compatible Military Assignment and Grade are required. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position.

Qualifications
General Experience: Possess experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements; Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC, WG-8602-08 (Trainee) : Must have at least 12 months of experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories.
AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC,WG-8602-10: Must have at least 18 months experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft; Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
TRAINEE POSITION: Applicants not meeting full qualifications for the WG-10 position indicated above may be considered for WG-08 trainee, if qualified. Statement-of-Difference of qualification requirements for each are indicated. If appointed as trainee, the selectee may be non-competitively promoted to WG-10 upon meeting full qualifications and recommendations of supervisor.
