This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5537000 and is part of the IL DCSOPS, National Guard.

Duties
As a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) (TITLE 5),GS-2210-11, you will provide technical support, guidance and advice to the State Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) on the management and training of the Army Military Intelligence (MI) systems, systems maintenance, systems maintainers, and networks.
- Provide remote and on-site field technical support services, such as software baseline installation, configuration, planning, installing, testing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise hardware and software, to the organizations fixed and tactical Military Intelligence (MI) systems, Army intelligence networks, and partner nation coalition networks.
- Maintain all necessary administrator and user accounts, clearance, privileges, and training to perform maintenance on Army Military Intelligence systems; including, but not limited to, the below or equivalent Top Secret/SCI with read on Counterintelligence scope polygraph NSA privileged access.
- Coordinate lifecycle replacement, warranty replacement, and sustainment level support and funding to organization and subordinate MI systems and networks.
- Provide advice and guidance on implementing automation in support of intelligence production.
- Provide guidance, instruction, and maintenance briefings to subordinate units, senior leaders and other staff regarding maintenance policies and procedures in all areas relating to MI systems and maintenance programs.
- Coordinate subordinate unit equipment fielding priority with ARNG, State Force Integration Readiness Officer (FIRO), and State Property Book Officer (PBO).
- Facilitate user and administrator access to Army Intelligence networks and tactical MI systems.
- Track organization and subordinate unit MI systems and networks type, version, accreditation, information assurance (IA) compliance, and mission capable statuses.
- Utilize multiple automated systems to generate reports to account for and report on organization and subordinate unit MI system maintainer/integrators, and applicable MOS's for training, clearance, certification, user, and administrator account requirements.
- Coordinate the receipt of periodic system security and software updates to subordinate units.
- Responsible for developing and establishing policies and procedures to manage the organization's MI Systems maintenance program in accordance with applicable regulation, policy, and law.
- Ensure subordinate units enter major training events and mobilizations with latest available software and technologies.

- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved by the TAG.

- Must obtain Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A) Maintenance Supervisor access within 24 months of hire.
- Attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of hire.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 Level - MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-09, in the Federal service in the normal line of progression for the occupation, IT Specialist (Systems Administration). Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system; experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment; experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-09 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service.

Education: Must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of this position and is directly related to the work of this position.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet the qualifications requirement for this position by combining your specialized experience and appropriate progressively higher-level graduate level education according to the following formula: (a) your total months of full-time specialized experience as a percentage of a 12-month total; PLUS (b) your total number of qualifying progressively higher-level graduate semester or quarter hours as a percentage of one year of graduate study. The total of the two percentages must equal at least 100 percent.
