Duties
Acts as full assistant in the overall operation, administration and personnel supervision of the assigned retail activity. Ensures efficient functioning of the activity, including opening and closing. Responsible for security of cash receipts, change fund, cash handling procedures, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) property and merchandise. Assists in monitoring and reviewing profit and loss statements, retail expenses, budgets and inventory. Assists in ordering, receiving, pricing, requisitioning and storage of merchandise. Takes physical inventories and prepares operational budgets and required reports. Oversees proper completion of requisition and issue forms and merchandise receipts. May assist in planning retail merchandise promotional displays. Ensures assigned area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and is in compliance with fire and safety regulations. Enforces security measures for funds, merchandise, supplies, equipment and property. Performs supervisory functions typical of a first-level supervisor. Prepares work schedules and makes work assignments; distributes workload; evaluates work performance; trains employees; establishes leave schedules; initiates personnel and disciplinary actions. Responsible for actively supporting the EEO program and communicating this support; ensures quality of opportunity in recruitment, employment, promotion, awards, training, details and discipline; participates in developing and carrying out affirmative action efforts, especially as related to motivating, training and developing minority employees and women, as well as other employees. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Three years experience in retail business, which demonstrates knowledge of retail operations and procedures. Knowledge of business mathematics, cash handling procedures and merchandising methods. Skill to review and monitor profit and loss statements, retail expenses, budgets and inventory. Skill to operate a personal computer and associated peripheral equipment. Skill to deal effectively with people. Skill to supervise employees in the accomplishment of work. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
