Summary

The Nurse Manager holds the responsibility for implementation of the Vision, Mission and Values of the Syracuse VAMC within his/her defined areas of responsibility. The Registered Nurse Manager is a PROFICENT nurse with a significant background of experience. The Registered Nurse Manager demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad and designates first-line supervisory authority, responsibility, and accountability for the 24/7 operations of the units/areas.

Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
