About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, located at the Audiology/Speech Pathology Services, Brian D. Allgood Army Community Hospital, Camp Humphreys, South Korea.

Duties
- Serve as Speech-Language Pathologist for Early Intervention Services (EIS) of the Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS) program.
- Provide EIS to infants/toddlers and their families who are eligible for early intervention under Department of Defense criteria.
- Implement a family-centered approach to services that supports and fosters confidence and competence in families to meet the needs of their child.
- Coordinate and participate in Child Find activities with community agencies (e.g., DoD child development centers, MTF's, DoD family support services) to ensure infants and toddlers with special needs are identified and referred for evaluation.
- Collaborate with MTF referral sources, service providers, day care workers and others who interact with children and their families.

- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. If selected, you will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirements for Speech/Language Pathologist:
Degree: A graduate or higher level degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of speech pathology with approved clinical practice. The education program must have been approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure: Applicants must possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Speech/Language Pathology in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes delivering transdisciplinary services as part of home-based early intervention to children ages birth to three with identified or suspected developmental delays as part of an established Early Intervention Program (following Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part C guidelines). Services include administration of comprehensive developmental evaluations (inclusive of all five areas of development), developing Individualized Family Service Plans from start to finish with the family, including the use of an Routines based interview (RBI), and using primary provider model -utilizing coaching strategies to assist families in enhancing their child's cognitive, motor, language, adaptive and social development, child find activities inclusive of screenings for developmental delays, and service coordination inclusive of plan reviews, advocacy and transitions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
