Unpaid internships with DFC are offered year round in Washington, D.C., and can last from 12 weeks to 12 months. Duties vary based on the department and/or office in which the intern is placed. DFC's Internship Program offers valuable experience that contributes to educational and professional growth, and may be applied in any future employment endeavor, including federal, state and local governments or in the private sector.

Duties
The Strategy Intern will:
- Advance special projects at the request of the DCOS, and at times, at the request of the COS, CEO and members of the CEO's team, requiring engagement across a wide set of organizational stakeholders to advance strategic priorities, working across DFC departments to operationalize DFC's strategy.
- Analyze the tactical and operational planning processes to assess DFC's execution on strategic objectives and provide guidance, data, and recommendations regarding DFC program and policy operations.
- Contribute to the development of timely and comprehensive implementation plans which effectively use human, physical and financial resources, and work effectively with other offices to achieve common objectives and assure that allocated resources are efficiently deployed and productively utilized.
- Support execution of administrative and operational priorities and serve as a key office liaison, ensuring smooth project management and coordination with agency leadership and offices throughout the organization.

Qualifications
Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program. The ideal candidate should have a concentration in business, economics, international relations, development policy, or other related subjects. Strong written, research and oral communication skills are required. Strong ability with programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Successful completion of a background investigation is also required.
Some knowledge of and/or experience in project and corporate finance, and specific sectors and countries is desirable but not required. Individuals with initiative and the ability to work independently are preferred.

PASS/FAIL COURSES:
If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim of superior academic achievement must be based upon class standing or membership in an honor society.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
