Duties
The IT Operations Intern will support both the Network Administration Group (NAG) and Workstation Administration Group (WAG), gaining hands-on experience across core IT infrastructure and end-user support functions. This role provides exposure to enterprise networking environments, system monitoring, troubleshooting, hardware deployments, documentation standards and customer service best practices.
The intern will split time between proactive network monitoring and operational tasks within NAG and direct user-facing technical support within WAG.

Qualifications
The Program is competitive and draws interns from a highly qualified applicant pool. In general, interns should possess demonstrated academic achievement; ability and willingness to work closely with others; flexibility; self-sustaining motivation and initiative; and impeccable trustworthiness, discretion, and maturity. Good judgment is critical.

Applicants must have:
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN).
- basic understanding of computer hardware, ancillary and peripheral devices.
- Familiarity with Windows, OSX, Linux and/or iOS operating systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Applicants must have completed two semesters of undergraduate study and meet one of the following criteria:
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields for the entirety of the internship term;
- Returning to a Bachelor's degree program in the above stated fields immediately following the internship term; or
- Participating in a federal fellowship program after the internship;
- Law students and graduate students are not eligible to participate in the Supreme Court Internship program.
- Preference will be given to applicants prepared to work eight-hour days, five days per week. The Public Information Office may accept interns available less than full time but at least four days per week.
- Interns selected for the summer term should plan to work for 8 weeks.
Education
At least two semesters of undergraduate study in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields are required.
