This position is located in the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's (PBGC), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Enterprise Cybersecurity Department (ECD).

Duties

The candidate selected for this position will:

GS-07

  • Assists with internal and external Enterprise Cybersecurity Department (ECD) communications including coordination with staff and program managers, quality assurance of communications products, and, under Division Manager or liaison direction, consistency of messages.
  • Compiles information from numerous sources in order to prepare a variety of regular and/or adhoc reports, charts, spreadsheets, etc., for use by Division staff.
  • Provide assistance in supporting the promulgation of information security, information assurance (IA) policies, management reports and dashboards.

GS-09

  • Manages distribution of internal and external Enterprise Cybersecurity Department (ECD) communications. Promotes awareness of security issues and ensures sound security principles are reflected in organizations’ vision and goals.
  • Work with program leads to complete IT security related project tasks and present findings and documentation to Division Manager and/or designed staff for review. Works to identify issues involving security processes that could hinder the delivery of service.
  • Supports the promulgation of information security, information assurance (IA) policies, management reports and dashboards.

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications and/or education for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.

Specialized Experience:  Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the private sector handling administrative matters.

Examples include: managing office space, coordinating office meetings and ordering office supplies.

1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement

To qualify for the GS-09:

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications and/or education for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the private sector researching and retrieving relevant material from a variety of sources to prepare reports and resolve administrative problems.

Examples include: ability to communicate verbally and in writing to conduct review of operating procedures, evaluate the effectiveness of administrative programs, confer with operating officials, identify problem areas and recommend solutions, and prepare written narrative reports including findings, recommendations, and proposed corrective action.

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

LL.B. or J.D., if related

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
