Duties
- Serves as Fitness Facility Coordinator and assists in the daily operations/functions required to manage a fitness facility up to 64,798 SQ FT. Works under the direction of the Facility Manager.
- Assists the Fitness Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Leads and or supervises the operation during second shift of program operations and in the absence of the Fitness Manager.
- Assists in the assessment of facility requirements and helps develop plans and specifications for projects to augment or replace fitness and sports facilities.
- Assists in the publicizing sports facilities, programs and events by drafting articles for local newspapers and as instructed by supervisor coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers and other promotional material.
- Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15j to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Possesses and maintains the following valid Certifications: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid and AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
- Must complete the following courses/classes: MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
- Selected applicant must be able to pass a Medical Physical Examination.
- Must be able to work evening shift until 9:00 p.m. (Closing)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to carry-out a Sports Program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.
2. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level..

Highly Preferred/Highly Qualified:
1. Must have worked in a fitness center or gym for a minimum of 6 months in the past 4 years.
2. Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as Physical Education or Kinesiology) and work experience as identified above.
3. Possession of a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
