Salary Range:  $95, 045 to $110,101

Our systems are critical to the operations of the House, and we see the impact of our work on day-to-day operations and in the enduring capabilities we deliver.  We are seeking a reliable and attentive Audio Technician to join a team that supports the audio controls on the House Chamber at the U.S. House of Representatives.  The selected candidate will be part of a team that supports the floor audio when the House is in session, as well as occasional tours and other activities.

As an audio technician, you must have the temperament, focus and the ability to sit and operate audio controls over a prolonged period of time. You must work well under pressure and be able to respond well to stressful conditions.

You are expected to establish and maintain a good working relationship with all individuals you may come in contact with. You are also expected to provide other services and support official activities at Legislative Computer Systems (LCS) and the Office of the Clerk as needs arise.

This position operates in a limited workspace without expectation of privacy where noise levels are usually moderate.  The working hours follow the legislative schedule, and as such, the candidate may work late hours and weekends. The applicant is expected to dress appropriately per the House decorum, be cordial, and always display professionalism.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and experience with Audio boards a plus.
  • Knowledge of House Chamber activities and Legislative Process a plus.
  • The candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, nights, and weekends when necessary.
