BASIC REQUIREMENTS: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Individual Occupational Requirements (IORs) for the Social Science, 0101 series are as follows:
Degree: Master's degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE ABOVE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:
Minimum Qualifications: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the federal service, performing duties such as:
- Conducting behavioral assessments;
- Providing critical counseling and referral services;
- Consulting with licensed psychologists, peer support counselors, faith-based clergy, or other health care professionals;
- Documenting the results of behavioral assessments and recommendations via oral, written, and electronic means.
Selective Placement Factor (SPF): A SPF is a special qualification requirement that is in addition to the minimum qualification requirements stated above and is essential to successfully perform the duties of this job. SPF experience must be documented in your resume. Applications without SPF experience will not receive further consideration under this announcement. The Selective Placement Factor for this position is as follows:
- License to conduct mental health treatment/counseling such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist (LP), or equivalent.
