Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) is searching for a Branch Chief for Recruiting, Talent Acquisition & Sustainment NH-0201-04 (GS-14/15 equivalent).
**This is a remote role. Actual pay-setting will be determined based on locality**
Description:
Serves as an advisor to the Chief of Guardian Generation, for all matters concerned with the formulation of Departmental plans and policies for personnel, acquisition, management, and the readiness of the Total Force. Provide classification, staffing, and talent acquisition advisory services to all personnel serviced by the Enterprise Talent Management Office (ETMO). Serviced organizations are complex and dynamic, and composed of a wide variety of personnel in professional, scientific, engineering, technical, administrative, and blue collar functional areas.
Duties:
Supervisory Leadership
- Manage and supervise personnel management functions, including workload planning, priority setting, and scheduling.
- Assess and assign work based on organizational priorities and employee capabilities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance on career development and training opportunities.
- Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters as needed.
- Establish performance standards and initiatives to enhance productivity and quality of work.
Classification, Staffing, and Talent Acquisition Operations
- Lead the ETMO Classification, Staffing and Talent Acquisition Operations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Develop policies and procedures to address operational challenges and regulatory compliance.
- Optimize organizational efficiency through resource allocation and workload management.
- Implement metrics and analysis systems to measure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
- Adapt organizational priorities based on mission requirements and resource availability.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent USSF with external agencies and institutions on personnel program issues.
- Foster relationships with HQ Air Force, DoD, OPM, and civilian entities to advocate for USSF interests.
- Communicate directly with senior leadership on personnel management policies and initiatives.
- Address customer concerns and ensure effective guidance and training for subordinate units.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives to support organizational objectives.
Strategic Communication
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans to promote USSF personnel programs.
- Utilize internal and external communication channels to disseminate information effectively.
- Prepare executive-level communications and presentations for senior leadership.
- Ensure timely and accurate information sharing across USSF, USAF, DoD, and other stakeholders.
Special Projects and Initiatives
- Identify and lead special projects impacting USSF installations and organizational goals.
- Conduct research and analysis to recommend actions on complex and controversial issues.
- Provide technically sound information to support decision-making processes.
- Evaluate reports and follow up on recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate:
The Ideal Candidates will have Demonstrated experience as a proven leader and team builder for a diverse and geographically separated team. Strong customer service skills. Extensive Technical Knowledge of all areas of Staffing/Classification/Talent Acquisition. The ability to pivot between ever changing priorities, effective communication both written and oral, organizational skills, and workload management. Incumbent must all possess the ability to apply various digital applications to daily work and establishment of various process improvements.

Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- PCS/Relocation funding is not available.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- This position is eligible for remote work.
- This position will close after 5 business days.
