The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff.  The CAO organization comprises more than 800 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel. 

This position is in the Logistics & Support, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House), serving as a Management Analyst Intern and is appointed on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 120 days. The Intern will be provided a structured educational opportunity through exposure to the business operations of the U.S. House of Representatives.  The Intern will have the opportunity to rotate through different assignments to gain real life experience for their degree, certification, or professional development. This position does not have day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.

** The CAO standard business hours are 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C.

  

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Possesses knowledge and experience applying analytic methodologies and principles to address client needs.          
  • Applies analytic techniques in the evaluation of project objectives and contributes to the implementation of strategic direction.          
  • Performs analyst functions including data collection, interviewing, data modeling, project testing, and creation of performance measurements to support project objectives.          
  • Conducts activities in support of the project team’s objectives.          
  • Competence in organizing and facilitating meetings, developing schedules, generating reports, and conducting analyses tailored to project specifications          
  • Conducts activities in support of the project team’s objectives.          
  • Works closely with the Manager or Team Leads.          
  • Undertakes studies and analyses to identify areas for productivity improvement.          
  • Makes use of tools, spreadsheets and databases in performing job duties.       
  • Performs other official duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma 
  •  Associate degree or certification from an accredited business or technical school, or enrolled student in a community college, junior college, university or graduate school program. 
  •  This is a full-time, in-person position, 40 hours a week, M-F. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite (O365).          
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience
