Join Our Team as a Clinical Dietitian
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Dietitian to join our team at the Washington VA Medical Center. You will play a vital role in our Clinical Section of Nutrition and Food Services, serving as an expert in medical nutrition. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, including physical examinations and risk evaluation for malnutrition, using the Nutritional Care Process (NCP).
- Develop and implement tailored Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) plans to address nutritional diagnoses and monitor their outcomes.
- Generate customized diet plans considering nutrient needs, restrictions, and food-drug interactions.
- Document patient care activities using the ADIME (Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitoring, Evaluation) format.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, both formal and informal.
- Provide educational nutrition counseling to individuals and groups, adapting to Veterans' needs.
- Utilize virtual care technology effectively for improved access to services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new initiatives for continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborate with the Food Operations Section to enhance patient dining experiences and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD), registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Minimum of 1-year experience at GS-09 level or equivalent in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Proficient in the Nutritional Care Process (NCP) for patient care delivery.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate across interdisciplinary teams.

Work Schedule
Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Sunday, including weekends and holidays. Ad-Hoc telework arrangements are available.
