Basic Requirements: Must possess all of the following:
Degree: Clinical psychology: You must have successfully completed all the requirements for the Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

Licensure: You must possess an active, current, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a State license in clinical psychology from a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, Territory or Jurisdiction District?

AND
Certification: You must be willing to maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare provider certification. This certification shall be maintained in a current status at all times while performing services.

To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service OR equivalent public or private sector experience, which must include performing the following duties:
- Perform psychodiagnosis and psychotherapy at a level of professional maturity for the full range of mentally disturbed patients in psychiatric or general medical hospitals or community mental health centers;
AND
- Apply psychological theories, principles to explain or justify psychological diagnoses, conclusions, findings or treatment recommendations.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
