Duties
- Responsible for the administration of the facility, to include implementation of developmentally appropriate programs, budgeting and financial management, food service, procurement, personnel management, child abuse prevention, parent involvement programs, and other related
- operational requirements. Applies professional knowledge of child development principles to supervise the CDC's developmental programming, to include ensuring implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, that promotes the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of children. Structures assignments, reviews work, hears and resolves grievances, initiates performance appraisals and corrective/adverse actions, approves and schedules leave for all employees.
- Develops integrated budget input, conducts written analysis of all budget variances, and prepares justification for funding program resource requirements and repairs/maintenance of facilities and equipment. Maintains compliance with public law, DoD, USMC orders and directives, locally established precedents, written standard operating procedures, national accreditation standards and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget.
- Monitors programs on a regular basis and initiates corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Manages new property resources and may provide direction on facility renovations and improvements. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives and exercises internal personnel management authorities as delegated by the higher-level supervisor, subordinate supervisors, and employees in the office.
- Directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors supervises employees. Counsels and trains employees, schedules and directs work, appraises work performance. Approves or disapproves leave, and personnel actions. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs.
- Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.
- Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
- Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly. Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials, and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office.
- Ensures safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with "Return To Work" program initiatives and following up on employee well-being.

Qualifications
- Degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or subject matter related field appropriate to the position OR combination of education and experience
- Courses should be equivalent to the major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriated to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional upper level course work (24 semester hours) that provided knowledge comparable to the normally acquired through successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
- Satisfactorily complete all background checks IAW PL 101-647 to include NACI.
- Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing and possess strong, interpersonal communication skills.
