Basic Requirement:
A. Possession of a Bachelor's or higher degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or a field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

B. Possession of a combination of education and experience. This is defined as courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
AND
Specialized Experience:
GS-11:
You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $82,764.00) if you possess one of the following:
A. One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
- Conducting analysis in programming or statistical software tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SPSS, STATA, Tableau, PowerBI) to prepare data for analysis;
- Assisting with the development of data analysis routines or scripts to standardize the management of electronic records in Cloud platforms (e.g. Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive); and
- Organizing data to assist team members with preparing analytical recommendations to management.
NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
OR
B. You have successfully completed three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.; or successfully completed a Ph.D.; or LL.M., if related, at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
C. You have less than one year of experience as described in A and less than 3 years of graduate level education as described in B. However, you have a combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that when combined, equals at least 100% of the total requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of the master's level [generally 36 semester hours] may be used in this calculation.
GS-12
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level performing the following duties:
- Conducting analysis in programming or statistical software tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SPSS, STATA, Tableau, PowerBI) to prepare data for analysis;
- Developing data analysis routines or scripts to standardize the management of electronic records in Cloud platforms (e.g. Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive);
- Communicating complex topics in plain language to audiences to develop data policies for ensuring proper data governance and/or records management; and
- Applying a combination of analysis methods (regression analysis, statistical analysis, modeling, machine learning, etc.) to identify insights and trends for organizational usage.
