Individual Occupational Requirement
This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement that must be met prior to meeting the specialized experience.
Basic Requirements
- Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
or
- Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.

Specialized Experience
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in Federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
- Engaging with customers and stakeholders to ensure their equities are properly considered.
- Using programming skills, statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data visualization and critical thinking skills--individually and as part of a team--to speed analytical process and analyze data to identify patterns and trends and interpret data to discover solutions and opportunities.
- Monitoring data science project status (progress and performance) through formal and informal means to evaluate progress toward project objectives.
- Communicating, both verbally and in writing, complex technical information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to and meets the needs of both technical and non-technical audiences alike.

MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive and excepted service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary.
