Duties
Position Overview: The Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in shaping and aligning the technology strategy of the organization with its business objectives. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, designing solutions, and providing guidance to ensure that the organization's technology landscape supports its long-term goals. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for creating and maintaining an architectural vision that enables efficient and effective information flow across various systems, applications, and processes.
Architectural Strategy: Develop and communicate the enterprise architectural vision, strategy, and principles that guide technology decisions across the organization.
Solution Design: Design and document end-to-end architectural solutions that meet business requirements while considering factors like scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and other relevant stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into architectural blueprints.
Technology Evaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to determine their potential impact on the organization's architecture and provide recommendations for adoption.
Governance and Standards: Establish and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all technology initiatives.
Road mapping: Develop and maintain technology roadmaps that align with business strategies, outlining the evolution of the organization's technology landscape over time.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with architectural decisions and provide mitigation strategies to ensure the security, stability, and reliability of the systems.
Collaborative Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to other members of the architecture and development teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Change Management: Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth transitions when implementing new technologies or architectural changes.
Vendor Relationships: Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate third-party solutions and ensure they align with the organization's architectural vision.

- Develops proof of concept applications to validate proposed solutions.
- Continuously reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of solutions and propose changes as needed.
- Contract(or) oversight.
- Assists with the establishment and adoption of technology architecture standards and methodologies.
- Writes policies.
- Partners with other technology teams across the legislative branch
- Writes RFPs.
- Reviews and evaluates responses to RFPs.
Required Work Experience
- Proven experience (10+ years) in architecture, solution design, and technology strategy development.
- Strong understanding of various architectural domains, including technology, application, data, infrastructure, Identity and access management, and security.
- In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, microservices, containers, and DevOps practices.

- Data: Responsible for designing, managing, and implementing the SAA/CIO’s data architecture to ensure that data assets are effectively stored, organized, and utilized to support the organization's goals and objectives.
- Application: Aligning technology with SAA/CIO strategic goals, ensuring that software applications are well-designed, efficient, secure, and capable of supporting the organization's growth and success.
- Technology: Aligning technology solutions with SAA/CIO business goals, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders.
- Identity and access mgmt.: Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the identity and access management solutions within an organization. IAM refers to the processes, technologies, and policies used to manage and control digital identities and their access to various resources and systems within an enterprise environment.
- Solution: Involves a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills to create software solutions that align with the organization's long-term goals and provide value to both the business and its users.
- Security: Responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive security framework and strategy for an organization to protect its information systems, data, assets, and operations.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience designing and governing large-scale enterprise data environments.
- Strong experience with data modeling, data integration, metadata management, and data governance.
- Experience working across diverse enterprise platforms, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Exposure to configuration, asset, or service data management (e.g., CMDB, CSDM) in complex enterprise settings is preferred.
Working Conditions
- No exceptional physical demands.
Security Clearance
- This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government security clearance.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens in order for the SAA to submit your application for a security clearance.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer
Information Systems.
