Qualifications
For the GS-07: You must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service, such as:
- Assisting with investigative duties designed to develop information, planning and conducting investigations, and refining investigative methods and techniques.
- Assisting with fact gathering that results in preparing a written report of the facts.
- Writing in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
OR One full year of graduate level education directly related to the position.
OR Superior Academic Achievement: To qualify based on superior academic achievement, you must have completed the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
AND must meet certain GPA requirements or membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
For the GS-09: You must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the
GS-07 level in the Federal service, such as:
- Conducting formal investigations into employee discrimination, or closely related areas, using a variety of investigative methods and determining such things as the documentary evidence needed to conduct the investigation.
- Interviewing witnesses through sworn statements or testimony and preparing a written report of the facts.
- Writing in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
OR Successful completion of a master's, or equivalent graduate degree, directly related to the position,
OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree,
OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 07 level. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 09 level.
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education must have been successfully completed and obtained from an accredited school, college, or university.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
