In this position you will serve as a Foreign Disclosure Officer providing foreign disclosure support to all assigned and tenant organizations.

- Administers the Foreign Visit Request (FVR), short and permanent visits
- Serve as the FDO technical expert who plans, develops, and implements National Disclosure Policy and procedures
- Provides guidance on ITAR
- Research export authority
- Coordinates with MAJCOM and SAF/IAPD on International Affairs topics

- Travel Requirements: Up to 25% Travel possible which may require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.
- Obtain and maintain Security clearance.
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- A current U.S. passport is required.
- Must meet the standards of experience, training and education to qualify for an International Affairs Level II certification within four years of accepting the position.
- Must attend USAF and MAJCOM foreign disclosure training courses as soon as possible.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Affairs, International Relations, Education, Political Science, International Politics, or Strategic Studies is highly desired.
- Incumbent must be comfortable dealing with U.S. senior leadership and high-ranking foreign representatives. The use of tact and diplomacy on all occasions is required.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Basic Requirements

Degree: major or equivalent, or a combination of courses totaling at least 24 semester hours, in international law and international relations, political science, economics, history, sociology, geography, social or cultural anthropology, law, statistics, or in the humanities; or 12 semester hours in one of the above disciplines and 12 semester hours in statistics/quantitative methods.

Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
or
- Experience: four years of appropriate experience in one or more of the fields listed above in work associated with international organizations, problems, or other aspects of foreign affairs.
Position specific skills and experience desired:
- 2 Years experience as a Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO) or FDO certification from MAJCOM/SAF/IA
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one (1) year at the next lower grade GS-11, level, pay band NH-02 or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band). Must have included either (a) responsibility for the direction and coordination of research, analysis, or other professional work in one or more of the fields listed in A above, or (b) specialized professional work of a high level of difficulty and responsibility in one or more of these fields. This high level experience must have been in such specialized activities as (1) formulation of instructions and policy guidance for United States representatives in international organizations; (2) transport and communication involving knowledge of economic, political, and technical aspects of international aviation, shipping, inland transport, or radio, telephone, and telegraph, etc.; (3) cultural affairs involving formulation and operation of policy on large-scale international cultural exchange programs; (4) occupied area affairs involving problems of occupation of conquered or liberated countries, regions, or zones; or (5) other specialized international affairs such as analyzing public opinion and attitudes, evaluating specific conditions, trends, or forces in a foreign country, formulating policy on problems of petroleum resources or fisheries, etc., representing foreign interests, protecting American property or interests, arranging for conferences, or similar activities.
Knowledge of AFI 16-201 and International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) principles and how they are applied to issues relating to Foreign Military Sales (FMS), International Cooperative Programs, (ICP), and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) exports of defense equipment, technology, information and services.
Knowledge of a wide range of international affairs concepts, physical security requirements, and U.S. foreign policy principles and practices, to include foreign military sales, technology transfer, and international cooperative programs.
Knowledge of general Air Force and specific foreign disclosure operations, politico-military affairs, as well as information and industrial security processes for classified material handling and general management practices.
Ability to understand complex technical material, analyze national security implications, and determine foreign disclosure actions required to export/transfer to foreign governments, international organizations or their representatives.
Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather and interpret pertinent data, and apply established rules and procedures in order to recommend effective solutions.
Ability to effectively write and orally communicate foreign disclosure and export information to various audiences, to include U.S. and foreign governmental staff, senior leadership and executives, and corporate officers.
Ability to use critical thinking and problem solving.
