Duties

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Position requires travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
Qualifications
Who May Apply: US Citizens
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-05 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Following general/detailed instructions; and 2) Knowledge of facilities maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Following general/detailed instructions; 2) Working with facilities maintenance; 3) Basic knowledge of facility equipment, machinery, and other features sufficiently to identify, code, classify, and input data in an automated maintenance control system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
GS-07 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Working with facilities maintenance; 2) Basic knowledge of facility equipment, machinery, and other features sufficiently to identify, code, classify, and input data in an automated maintenance control system; 3) Oversight managing and scheduling recurring maintenance, repair, and replacement activities on complex equipment and machinery; and 4) Knowledge of budget and accounting principles sufficient for maintaining costs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
GS-08 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Oversight managing and scheduling recurring maintenance, repair, and replacement activities on complex equipment and machinery; 2) Knowledge of budget and accounting principles sufficient to maintaining costs; 3) Gathering, compiling, and analyzing data for forecasting preventative maintenance, repairs, labor costs, and ordering parts and supplies; and 4) Utilizing multiple components of a complex and integrated automated maintenance control system and the ability to analyze system data to adjust procedures and make modifications to improve efficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
GS-09 - Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Independently managing and scheduling recurring maintenance, repair, and replacement activities on complex equipment and machinery; 2) Knowledge of budget and accounting principles sufficient to maintaining costs for facility maintenance and equipment; 3) Gathering, compiling, and analyzing data for forecasting preventative maintenance, repairs, labor costs, and ordering parts and supplies; 4) Utilizing multiple components of a complex and integrated automated maintenance control system and the ability to analyze system data to adjust procedures and make modifications to improve efficiency; and 5) Developing, negotiating and administering construction and supply/service delivery order contracts and purchases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
