1. Professional knowledge of the principles of wildlife science, movement ecology, and natural resource management.
2. Skills in developing, initiating and coordinating interagency efforts and progress toward common goals of Statewide and regional strategic plans that include objectives, activities, timetables, and evaluations. 3. Broad knowledge of existing habitat preservation activities of the states and the federal government; including, but not limited to land use programs of USDA, in order to analyze implications and coordinate and integrate Service objectives.
4. Strategic communication skills and knowledge of best practices for communicating with different value-orientations, using effective conservation messaging, verbal and written communication, in order to communicate and work effectively with supervisors, private landowners, Tribes, coworkers, other agency employees, representatives of nongovernment organizations, and the public.
5. Skills in applying best practices for collaborative conservation and partnership building, including conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, and facilitation.
