Duties

Supervises (3) NL-2 Housekeeper Leaders and (17) NA-2 Housekeepers in performance of work. Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol abuse, and take appropriate action.

May perform Housekeeper duties as required to include: making beds, changing sheets, towels, and other linens; thoroughly cleaning guest rooms to include dusting, waxing and polishing furniture; sweeping floors, vacuuming and shampooing rugs; emptying ashtrays and wastebaskets, and sanitizing lavatories. May use a ladder, wash walls and windows, dust drapes and blinds; turn mattresses, sanitize all fixtures and bedding with disinfectant, and service each room daily with soap, cups, coffee, etc. Reports missing or broken articles. Occasionally scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy (industrial-type) powered scrubbers and buffers. May wash and replace venetian blinds, ceiling fixtures and move heavy furniture.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings. Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office. Ensures safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions, and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with ¿Return To Work¿ program initiatives, and following up on employee well being.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture. Ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment. Knowledge of proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. Ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions. Knowledge of proper procedures to safely perform work. Skill to supervise employees in the accomplishment of work

Responsibility: Supervisor provides general direction on common and recurring duties and incumbent performs these duties independently. Specific and detailed instructions are provided on new or complex assignments. Work is spot checked to adherence to instructions, completeness, quantity and quality.

Physical Effort: Work requires constant standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting of objects. Climbs ladders and operates industrial equipment. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.

Working Conditions: Work is normally performed indoors under normal conditions. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment, strong odors and skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions.
