Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Medicare Contractor Management Group (MCMG), Division of Change and Operations Management (DCOM).

As a Health Insurance Specialist (Release Manager), GS-0107-13, you will serve as program expert overseeing, managing and coordinating the quarterly health insurance shared system release process.

Duties

  • Develop, prioritize, and implement the quarterly shared system releases, including tracking change requests in draft and scheduling releases, ensuring the quality and timeliness of change requests targeted for the release manager's assigned release.
  • Schedule and lead pre-review meetings early in the release to resolve any potential confusion with these requests, and to provide a forum for interested or impacted parties to engage in one-on-one discussions.
  • Provide technical expertise and training support to divisional, CMS central, and regional office staffs on the CMS enterprise-wide change management system and release management practices and processes.

In order to qualify for this GS-13 position, you must meet the following: You must clearly demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Overseeing, managing, and coordinating the health insurance shared system release process; (2) Serving as a lead or technical expert to resolve issues related to system releases; AND (3) Developing standards, policies, procedures, or instructions to ensure system compliance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
