GS-12: You MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience is experience applying at least one highway investigative area (human factors, motor carrier factors, vehicle factors, highway factors, or , survival factors)while conducting highway crash investigations or highway safety research; skill in writing reports of highway crash investigations or transportation safety research, including organizing data necessary to develop discussions of relevant safety issues; experience providing formal oral presentations about the results of crash investigations or transportation safety research within an organization or to other local groups; and experience performing basic project management tasks, such as setting timelines and monitoring progress to completion.
GS-13: You MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience is experience applying at least one highway investigative area (human factors, motor carrier factors, vehicle factors, highway factors, or survival factors) while conducting highway crash investigations or highway safety research; writing reports of highway crash investigations or transportation safety research, including analyzing factual data as well as identifying relevant conclusions and safety recommendations; experience providing formal oral presentations about the results of crash investigations or transportation safety research to diverse audiences, including at a state or national level; and experience monitoring timelines for projects, such as investigations or research studies.
