ID Services Manager 

Access Control & Parking Security Division

Salary: $95,995 - $113,653

This is a supervisory position. 

Job Summary:

The position is within the Access Control and Parking Security Division of the Sergeant at Arms Office, U.S. House of Representatives. Identification Services (IDS) produces and distributes identification badges to all authorized personnel throughout the Capitol complex. Incumbent manages the daily operations of House IDS, including the administrative and operational functions of the office, and supervises personnel if the Director of IDS is unavailable.

Duties:

(Typical duties include, but are not necessarily limited to)

  • Administers the daily operations of the office.
  • Oversees the issuance of ID badges.
  • Assists the Director, ID Services in planning, assigning, and evaluating the work of employees in the division.
  • Manages general office policies and procedures of the Division of Identification Services.
  • Coordinates with Congressional offices and the Architect of the Capitol regarding paperwork.
  • Ensures proper staffing of both ID Services office locations.
  • Trains new employees.
  • Coordinates the ordering and procurement of general office supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains records of ID badges issued.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Acts as a resource for ongoing training and knowledge transfer to ensure the team stays up to date on systems and best practices.
  • Models behavior for other Identification Services staff to follow.
  • Supports House recovery operations structure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Experience and Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; supervisory/management experience. Four or more years experience relevant to this position.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, permanent. Monday – Friday, 8:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, when necessary, evenings and weekends as needed.

This position is based in a typical office environment. Actual weight handled varies, but the role involves handling items including books, documents, and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. The incumbent should be capable of meeting physical requirements, which may include sitting, lifting, bending, crouching, walking, and standing.

• Data Management/Information Management - Knowledge of principles, procedures, and tools involved in organizing and maintaining information and data. Ability to develop data warehouses and information management systems to improve the accuracy, integrity, accessibility, and security of data and information at the SAA.
