Duties

As a INTELLIGENCE OFFICER at the GG-0132-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Provide authoritative direction and oversight for all facets of JECC intelligence, counterintelligence, and security programs, policies, and projects.
  • Provide oversight of the JECC Command Security Program, which includes physical and personnel security, and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
  • Prepare or consolidate reports covering assigned activities and programs, presents briefings to senior military and civilian officials and discusses status and progress of new or changed requirements, gains acceptance, and implements decisions reached.
  • Oversee intelligence liaison with local intelligence and counterintelligence organizations to ascertain threats from terrorism, espionage, sabotage and subversion.
  • Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Address subordinates concerns, whether perceived or real, and follows up with appropriate action to correct or eliminate.

  • This position is a KEY position. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, must continue to perform until relieved by proper authority

You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience.

Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Performing strategic, command-wide intelligence and security planning, systems development, budget, and innovation activities.
  • Overseeing intelligence liaison with local intelligence and counterintelligence organizations to ascertain threats from terrorism, espionage, sabotage and subversion.
  • Providing executive level advice to the Commander and other senior leaders, and subordinate commanders on all matters pertaining to intelligence, counterintelligence, and security.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
  • Counterintelligence
  • Strategic Planning
  • Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
