IOWA AIR NATIONAL GUARD - TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for this position:

GS-09

  1. The incumbent is required to possess a good knowledge of the basic technical or operations aspects of basic subject-matter assignments, a familiarity with intelligence techniques and sources, and an understanding of current organization policies and attitudes.
GS-11
  1. At the GS-11 level, the employee is required to possess a thorough knowledge of a variety of intelligence specialty areas along with a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.
  2. The GS-11 level intelligence operations specialist must also maintain a complete knowledge of collection and dissemination techniques and sources as well as the ability to produce instructions and manuals with a minimum of direction.
  3. To ensure a successful mission, the incumbent of this position is required to maintain a thorough knowledge of all aspects of his/her intelligence specialty area.
  4. The incumbent independently evaluates and interprets raw intelligence data and prepares reports based on the analysis of patterns, trends, and characteristics.
  5. This matches the GS-11 level as described in the standard where the specialist analyzes and evaluates raw data in his/her functional area in order to produce finished intelligence reports under general supervision.
