Summary

This position is located in the Chief Information Officer Organization (CIOO), Infrastructure Operations and Service Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and is responsible for maintaining centralized IT infrastructure, engineering, and integration services and capabilities for the corporation.

Duties

  • Provides end-to-end Tier 3 support for unified communications issues to include the underlying network and security infrastructure supporting unified communications as well as legacy voice and video components.
  • Directs and guides the gathering of end-to-end on premise or cloud-based unified communications hardware and software requirements for new initiatives and evaluates and tests hardware and software products to determine which products best meet the IT requirements of the Corporation and enhance the Corporation's information security posture.
  • Communicates functional and technical requirements, issues, and problems to both technical and non-technical personnel at multiple levels.
  • Troubleshoots problems; diagnoses systems failures to isolate source of problems in equipment, systems software, and applications programs.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify for the CG-14: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-13 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience designing, implementing, and supporting Unified Communications (UC) information systems such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or Zoom, and using monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk) to ensure optimization, availability, and security of voice and video operations.

You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office two days per week.
