Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The Azure Enterprise Architect / Engineer serves as a senior technical specialist responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure Government cloud solutions. The position focuses on technical execution within established enterprise architecture, security policy, and agency IT standards in support of the agency's public transportation safety mission.

Duties

As a Information Technology Specialist (ENTARCH) - Direct Hire,GS-2210-14, you will perform the following major duties:

  • Serves as the agency's Subject Matter Expert for Azure enterprise solution architecture, guiding the design, modernization, and integration of complex, mission-critical IT systems that support the agency's public transportation safety mission.
  • Leads the development of enterprise-wide solution architectures across cloud environments, DevSecOps platforms, data ecosystems, and mission applications, ensuring that all technology solutions are secure, scalable, interoperable, and aligned with agency strategic goals.
  • Leads enterprise efforts to modernize legacy applications, transition workloads to cloud environments.
  • Design and implement Azure Government cloud solutions in alignment with approved enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards.
  • Engineer hybrid and cloud-native architectures supporting application modernization and migration efforts.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following:

Experience - Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

IN ADDITION: You MUST have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience is defined as: Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud solutions; applying enterprise-wide architectural principles, standards, and reference architectures. Providing technical guidance and support to system owners, engineers, and program teams on the adoption and optimization of cloud services and leading enterprise efforts to modernize legacy applications, and transition workloads to cloud environments.
