Summary
This position is part of the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Energy in the Office of Inspections, Intelligence Oversight, and Special Projects (OIIS). As an Inspector, you will conduct inspection operations at various field sites.
This is a Term Appointment - Time limited more than one year but not more than 4 years. The appointment is not permanent and will not give the employee competitive/permanent status.

Duties
As a Inspector, you will:
- Review and evaluate the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the performance of the Department by conducting fieldwork in inspections of programs, organizations, management systems, and activities.
- Conduct fieldwork in the reviews of noncriminal allegations of waste, abuse, or mismanagement surfaced through Hotline complaints or other sources.
- Ensures that appropriate techniques are used in gathering, documenting, analyzing, and summarizing inspection evidence that is sufficient and appropriate for the inspection objective.
- Identify potential findings and their root cause with recommendations to appropriate officials.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Inspector experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service directing a performance or allegation-based inspection from planning to reporting. Specific work experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Review and evaluate the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the performance by conducting inspections of programs, organizations, management systems, and activities.
- Utilize appropriate techniques in gathering, documenting, analyzing, and summarizing inspection evidence that is sufficient and appropriate for the inspection objective.
