Duties
As a Investigation & Compliance Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Plans and manages major and continuing investigation/compliance programs which involves high-priority cases which are central to agency objectives.
- Acts as agency authority and spokesperson to other government agencies and foreign counterparts.
- Works closely with subject matter experts in information and communication technological areas, including network infrastructure, automation, connected software, and infrastructure/platform as a service.
- Analyzes key policy questions in the investigation/compliance area and makes significant agency decisions, policy recommendations and positions
- Evaluates mitigation adherence and effectiveness; performs compliance field work; audit compliance reviews; and determines suitability of national security agreements.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Evaluating national security risks involving foreign-owned U.S. businesses and drafting or responding to regulatory determinations on issues related to either intellectual property, telecommunications, data privacy, or technology-based supply chain risks affecting U.S. interests; AND
- Applying national security regulatory authorities to conduct compliance monitoring under CFIUS or Team Telecom mitigation agreements, including cases addressing technology and data privacy risk; OR
- Applying federal trade, antitrust, or securities laws and regulations by investigating potential violations that may result in civil or criminal penalties and supporting related enforcement matters.
