NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Lodging Facility Manager BUSINESS TITLE: Lodging Facility Manager FLSA: Exempt JOB SERIES: 1101 PAY LEVEL: NF-03/04
INTRODUCTION: This position is responsible for the operation of Recreational lodging facilities at Camp Fuji as the MCCS Recreation Lodging Manager, managing lodging operations including but not limited to, financial budgeting, strategic planning, managing service and satisfaction trends and complying with all applicable regulations and directives. This position¿s pay level is NF-03/04. At the entry level, the incumbent will perform substantially the same duties and responsibilities in the developmental capacity under closer supervision. The incumbent is required to successfully complete all training requirements, gain specialized experience, and be recommended by the supervisor prior to advancement to the target grade level without competition. Marine Corps Community Services Camp Fuji encompasses the operation of one Recreational Lodging facility (TRF) inclusive of one convenience retail store operation, gaming facility, and as a secondary car rental outlet. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for management control and efficient operation of the Lodging facility. Responsible for the oversight of Guest Services and Guest Reception Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance functions. May work at the Guest Reception Desk as needed basis. Oversees guest satisfaction process and works to ensure that services and facilities meet the needs and expectations of patrons. Inspects no fewer than ten (10) guest rooms on a weekly basis; documents inspections and forms action plans to address any noted deficiencies. Provides direction, encouragement, recognition, and leadership to all billeting staff. Conducts regular meetings with hotel staff to ensure consistent operations and fosters a workplace culture of hospitality and service. Interviews and hires associates, and oversee the onboarding, training, and professional development process for all staff. Implements new policies or innovative promotions that increase occupancy rate, deliver quality guest service, and maintain the required level of profitability. Develops and implements strategies/procedures to ensure safety and security of occupants. Develops and coordinates marketing materials. Coordinates with counterparts in the local hotel/motel industry to arrange space at a reasonable rate for patrons when space is not available at the billeting. Analyzes and reports on facility operations and business performance using key metrics. Performs analysis of profit and loss statements, performance metrics and business analytics to improve operational performance. Recommends and directions actions when data shows unfavorable trends and deviations from plans. Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives. Plans, organizes work, and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plan, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Conducts forecasts of revenues and expenses. Maintains a capital improvement plan and administers refreshes and renovations based on direction given by the supervisor. Reviews the financial status of the assigned activities and recommends changes considered necessary.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: - Must possess bachelor's degree in job related field OR minimum of 3 years¿ experience in leadership role in a related field, OR combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties stated above.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: - Must understand the daily operation of a hotel.
- Business, hotel, hospitality, retail and /or administrative knowledge and management is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in automated Lodging Point of Sales (LPOS) is preferred.
- Experience in accounting procedures, organization, and computer fluency are preferred.
- Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, and nighttime.
- Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures or commonly accepted business practices, industry trends, policies, and procedures to include budgeting, inventories, cost controls, and contract agreement is preferred.
- Ability to supervise subordinate employees, provide work directions and resolve problems.
- Must have knowledge in operating Microsoft Programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in Japanese is preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
- A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator's permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 30 days of hire.
- Serv-Safe and CARE training are required. The incumbent is required to obtain required certification within 90 days of hire is required.
