Duties

This position is located under the Property and Fleet Management Section, Materiel Management Branch (MMB), Property, Acquisition and Safety Division (PASD), Office of Management (OM), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Washington, District of Columbia. in Washington, District of Columbia.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Logistics Management Specialist (Fleet Manager) for the Property and Fleet Management Section, Materiel Management Branch (MMB), Property, Acquisition and Safety Division (PASD), Office of Management (OM), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

As a Logistics Management Specialist (Property/Fleet Manager), GS-0346-13, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Serve as a senior logistics specialist, a subject matter expert in the planning, directing and coordinating of a fleet management program and logistical management services that further promote the accomplishment and mission of a nationwide fleet management program.
  • Establish standards, replacement criteria, quotas, and operating policy for the ATF's motor vehicle fleet operations.
  • Prepare budget requests for bureau-wide vehicle replacement and additions and prepare specifications for procurement of vehicles.
  • Develop and implements policy changes that may be required to mandate new operating procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical advice, assistance, and guidance to Materiel Management Branch staff on the development of various program issues and other operational concerns.

Qualifications

You must:

  • Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
  • Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service by 07/01/2024

Please provide your most recent promotion or within-grade-increase SF-50 to support the TIG requirement.

To qualify for the GS-13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12.

Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:

  • Develop and issue policies and procedures for a fleet program.
  • Establish criteria and analyze trends for a fleet program.
  • Advise senior level management on the effectiveness of a fleet program.
  • Perform analysis of the financial status and financial operations on a fleet program.
