Duties

• Duties require walking, stooping, bending, standing, and working in tiring positions. Incumbent frequently lifts and carries items weighing 10-40 pounds and occasionally handles material weighing over 45 pounds.
• Performs a full range of warehousing duties in a large warehouse or as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse or supply facility.
• Receives shipments.
• Develops and establishes appropriate layout for placement for incoming items.
• Performs or directs the unloading of trucks and freight cars.
• Screens shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies.
• Identifies items damaged in shipment.
• Handles a significant variety of hazardous materials cognizant of specialized handling and storage requirements for each item.
• Takes appropriate precautions for all hazardous material.
• Updates records to reflect current stock levels for all items stocked.
• Bar-codes incoming items as appropriate.
• Directs items to specifically prescribed warehouse or storage locations.
• Identifies appropriate locations that facilitate quick retrieval of items being stored to meet future requirements.
• Coordinates receiving and shipping schedules.
• Conducts and directs inventories.
• As senior employee, provides work direction to other employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position. A physical examination may be required

• Must be able and willing to work rotating Saturdays
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing using the English Language in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
