Duties

  • Works as a member of the team performing guest room maintenance involving a variety of trades evaluated at grade level 7. Assignments include carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing
  • Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks, dollies, etc., moves heavy boxes/cartons by hand or dolly. Moves and arranges furniture
  • May be required to drive vehicles up to and including 5-ton truck to move furniture, etc. to various building on the property. Must have working knowledge of woodworking techniques and basic shop mathematics
  • A leader or supervisor assigns work orally or through written instructions. The work is usually performed indoors. Will be exposed to dust, dirt and noise. Worker will be exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, burns, etc.
  • The worker makes repairs and installations from floor level, ground level, and from ladders. Work requires standing, stooping, bending, climbing, crawling and kneeling for extended periods in uncomfortable positions

Must have experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job posting. Salary Information:
New FWS appointments will be made at the minimum step rate for the appropriate grade.

1) Garrison commanders or equivalent are authorized to make appointments at the second step rate in recognition of special qualifications, skills, and experience of an exceptional or highly specialized nature.
2) Upon reemployment and reinstatement to a NAF position, the entrance salary may be fixed at any rate for the appropriate grade that does not exceed the rate paid during the previous employment. However, if the highest previous rate falls between two rates of the grade, the employee may be paid at the higher rate

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts.
