Duties
Joining Customs & Border Protection (CBP) will allow you to utilize your expertise in management inspections to plan and conduct varied management inspection projects or other analytical assessments that require thorough research and investigation. This position starts at a salary of $105,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $137,000.00 (GS-13, Step 10). In this Management Inspections Specialist position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals involved in evaluating operations compliance of established procedures and policies; assessing operational and organizational compliance; developing, implementing, monitoring, and periodically refining of a variety port inspection protocols encompassing complex and constantly changing anti-terrorism, narcotics interdiction, and trade processing core process functions; and developing, planning, and conducting special reviews or major core process functions.
Typical Work assignments include:
- Participating in the planning, organization, and execution of assigned inspection projects.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring nationwide management inspection protocols intended to assess operational compliance with CBP core process programs and operations.
- Serving as a technical expert and providing Management Inspections Division personnel in the field with the required guidance, instruction, and procedural references necessary to effectively, efficiently, and successfully execute inspections.
- Preparing detailed reports, memoranda, briefings, and profiles in support of Management Inspections Division activities and plans.
- Ensuring that accurate, concise, and timely information is available to executive management and policy.
