This position has a positive education requirement. You must meet the following series requirements:
0401 Series:
A) Have a bachelor`s degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or chemistry OR
B) Have a combination of education and experience equivalent to a major in biological science (at least 30 semester hours) courses equivalent to a major in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related discipline.
In addition to meeting the education requirement, you must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is further defined as: experience participating in a program involving implementation of landscape-scale and/or compensatory mitigation strategies and tools. Develop, review, recommend, and implement changes to mitigation program policies, standards, methods, controls, and procedures; participate on interagency and/or interdisciplinary teams and committees to discuss mitigation initiatives, activities, policies, and procedures; provide field offices advice and guidance on mitigation strategies, planning, and implementation.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary, requiring long periods of sitting in one position, intense concentration, and working for several hours at a time. Stress may be experienced on a regular basis in attempting to respond to conflicting objectives and in working against tight deadlines with limited resources. Occasionally during field work there may be some physical exertion such as walking, standing, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, carrying of items such as books, backpacks, equipment, and samples. May drive in an automobile or offroad vehicle.
Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. Occasional travel may be required. The position may be required to visit field sites where risks may include exposure to inclement weather and potential injury from falls, strains, bites, stings, etc. The incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or designated by the safety officer.
