Summary

This is a full-time position with the Marshal's Office - Police Force at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C.

Duties

This position is located in the Supreme Court of the United States Police Force. The Motor Vehicle Fleet Manager for the Police Force reports to, and receives general direction and supervision from, the Police Sergeant and Lieutenant assigned. The Motor Vehicle Fleet Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Supreme Court Police fleet of motor vehicles. The incumbent is responsible for interpreting all vehicle related policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provides advice and assistance to management regarding vehicle issues.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Daily management of Fleet
a) Develop, maintain, and review maintenance files and records, service bulletins, etc., to ensure that all required services are performed, that warranties and safety requirements are enforced, and that discrepancies are identified and corrected.
b) Ensure that the vehicles are picked up for maintenance, and delivered in a timely manner, and are safeguarded during maintenance.
c) Ensure that all vehicles have special equipment (emergency and safety) installed.
d) Analyze maintenance records, etc., to ensure that the service delivered is acceptable and accurately reflected in the maintenance reports.
e) Monitor and conduct analysis of the age of the vehicle, condition, mileage, etc., for recommendations on replacement cycles.
f) Inspect vehicles for damage and coordinate necessary repairs after a vehicle is involved in an accident.
g) Coordinate a vehicle rotation program by reviewing utilization patterns.
h) Prepare vehicle related reports, statistics, correspondence.
i) Implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with law enforcement standards.

2. Procurement of Vehicles and Services
a) Identify and acquire qualified vendors to provide preventive maintenance for the Department's vehicles.
b) Assist with analyzing and determining the Department's needs prior to preparing annual vehicle replacement orders.
c) Inspect vehicles prior to acceptance into the Fleet and after repairs occur.
d) Coordinate installation and de-installation of emergency and communications equipment.
e) Collaborate with vendors to ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance expectations.

3. Other Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications

Outstanding attention to detail and strong organization skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word are required. Prior experience managing fleet related databases and records is preferred.

Education

The incumbent must be a high school graduate with a minimum of two years of experience in fleet management or vehicle operations in a similar capacity.
