Duties
Protect your nation by strengthening NRO programs and operations through independent oversight! As an IT auditor with the NRO OIG, your work will help NRO effectively and efficiently carry out its vital national security mission and promote good stewardship of its resources by helping detect and deter mismanagement, fraud, waste, and abuse. Supporting a single or multiple audits of NRO programs and activities you will:
- Help plan, conduct, analyze, and report on NRO IT programs by supporting audits, program evaluations, and other work under the guidance of NRO OIG management (Deputy Inspector General, Assistant Inspector General for Audits, DAIGA).
- Support critical quality assurance related tasks for audits, evaluations, and other assignments.
- Work collaboratively with other auditors collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and document analysis and conclusions.
- Support or lead meetings with NRO officials including interviews and presentation of audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Write internal work papers and reports that support recommendations for improvement in NRO programs and activities.
- Analyze the development, implementation, acquisition, security, and internal controls of IT networks, systems, and applications particularly as they relate to the use of IT in NRO operations and mission support activities.
- Conduct or support other OIG functions as required.
- Travel may be required.
THIS POSITION: This position will be vetted and onboarded as a CIA officer who will immediately be assigned to the NRO OIG.

Minimum Qualifications

The NRO OIG will consider work experience, educational background, and professional certifications in assessing your skills and knowledge to determine eligibility for a specific grade and step. Specialized experience includes supporting the completion of performance audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards or acquiring, maintaining, or using relevant information technology systems.
- Demonstrated excellent writing skills including an ability to synthesize information from primary and secondary sources into written products that are clear, concise, accurate, objective, and precise.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex information, collect information from interviews, and customize the information presented to the audience.
- Demonstrated excellent analytic and critical thinking skills, including the ability to assemble and assimilate large volumes of quantitative and qualitative data, decipher trends, identify key issues and associated root causes, and draw appropriate conclusions.
- Ability to meet the minimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation

- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Experience with government auditing, program evaluation, or information systems
Education
- Bachelor's or master's degree in one of the following:
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- Information Security
- Cybersecurity
- Other IT relevant degrees
- At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale for highest obtained degree.
