Duties

This position is in the Supreme Court of the United States, Police Force, Administrative Office. The Personnel Security Specialist for the Police Force reports to, and receives general direction and supervision from, the Police Force's Administrative Officer. The incumbent regularly works with Police leadership to ensure the security and safety of Court building and all other facilities within the Police Force's jurisdiction. The primary duty of the position is to provide badging, credentialing, and monitoring of the Access Control Program. The incumbent is responsible for verifying background checks and identities, processing and issuing access badges, maintaining badge records, and troubleshooting as needed. Assigned tasks will include maintaining records and drafting written communication for program compliance and oversight.

Qualifications

  • One year of specialized experience which includes implementing and monitoring an access control program for a multi-building facility; issuing security and access control badges; processing visitor authorization requests; and, reviewing access control policies and protocols is desired. An additional grade may be considered for each additional year of related, specialized experience up to the full performance level.
  • Familiarity with security management software, badge issuance systems, and visitor management platforms is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word are required.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, strong organization skills, tact and a courteous demeanor are required.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working successfully under pressure, in law enforcement or security setting, is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and the ability to communicate procedures clearly are highly valued in this position. ·

Education

A high school diploma (college preferred) and a minimum of one year of government badging security administration experience, or a related role are required.
