Job Description (Please follow all instructions carefully)

Summary

This position is located at the Office of Financial Research (OFR). As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for understanding and responding to stakeholder needs and interests and supporting the product strategy and tasks related to a portfolio of data products. The OFR has a broad array of stakeholders with different needs and interests, including Congress, academia, the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), news media, global regulators, and the public.

Duties

The Office of Financial Research (OFR) is recruiting to fill a key position. We offer both flexible work schedules and an opportunity for challenging and interesting work. The OFR is located in the heart of Washington, DC with an office on 14th street, near the White House, a few blocks from the McPherson Square and Metro Center metro stations, and close to shops, museums, and restaurants. The Office of Financial Research (OFR or Office) is a newer organization established by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act in the Treasury Department to provide data and analysis to the Financial Stability Oversight Council (the Council) and its member agencies, improve the quality and transparency of financial information, conduct and sponsor research related to financial stability, and promote best practices in risk management.

This opportunity is also open to any US citizen to apply under Announcement 24-DO-904-P. Please refer to that announcement for details on open period, eligibility, and how to apply.

Opting in does not impact on your application for this announcement, nor does it guarantee further consideration for additional positions. This job opportunity announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies.

The following are the duties of this position at the OR-53. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As a Product Manager, you will:

  • Use human centered design research methodology to probe, assess, and evaluate behaviors of targeted groups of people; translate that knowledge into meaningful information to inform and improve products and ensure product or service design is accessible to all populations and people the OFR serves.
  • Develop mechanisms for gathering or using existing quantitative and qualitative data to help internal OFR stakeholders understand their customers; develop insights to inform decision-making, identify and scope problems; and embark on new research areas worth exploring through innovative methods.
