Specialized Experience at GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Working on Capitol Hill for a member of congress (House or Senate) or working in a legislative affairs position; 2) exercising expert knowledge of program goals, objectives, and timing sequence of key program events and milestones to evaluate program accomplishment; and 3) applying a broad range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and procedures applicable to effective program management in order to make recommendations to existing regulations or policies.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Specialized Experience at GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Working on Capitol Hill for a member of congress (House or Senate) or working in a legislative affairs position; 2) providing oversight to highly-visible programs that involve the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness; 3) providing advice to address potentially controversial findings, issues, or problems with widespread impact; and 4) applying program management policies or demonstrating skill in planning, organizing, integrating, and directing teamwork related to the Civil Works program.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
