Duties

Greets patrons with enthusiasm, warmth, and a positive attitude as an ambassador for the Bob Hope Theater.  Provide information on the use of facility, hours of operation, and general information.  Responsible operating a cash register, receiving payments, and making change. Will be assigned various duties within the Bob Hope Theater to include, selling tickets, taking patron tickets, working the snack bar, assisting customers, and other duties as required.  Will be required to work at the snack bar which includes taking customers' orders, making, and serving food.  Incumbent must adhere to food health safety regulations and safety procedures.  MCCS will provide food handling training courses and will pay fees required to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate. This position may be required to assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, duties as needed.

Will assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the Bob Hope Theater exterior and interior areas including main auditorium, restrooms, lobby, concession area, and box office.  Perform custodial duties as necessary, including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, seat-cleaning, sanitizing restroom fixtures, etc. Monitors and checks the security of premises.  This position requires the availability to work primarily nights and weekends.  Additionally, this position will be required to work at the Miramar Airshow.

Provides exceptional customer service, and upholds high service standards using respect, courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork.  Takes initiative to solve problems quickly but recognizes when to seek assistance to resolve issues.  Collaborates in a professional, supportive, and proactive manner.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

This position requires the ability to work at other Semper Fit Department facilities as needed. Collateral Semper Fit work locations include but are not limited to the; 50M Pool, Golf Course, Party/Adventure Recreational Center (PARC), Information Tickets and Tours, Gyms, etc. Cross training will be provided accordingly.  Hours for this position vary and each work location will have various shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays.  Shift differential pay will be appropriately applied.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

  • Six months of experience in a similar recreational activity is desired but not required.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification is preferred but not required.
  • Skill to learn MCCS and Semper Fit policies, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Basic computer and/or cash register comprehension and knowledge.
  • This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
  • Basic kitchen and cleaning knowledge.
