Summary
This position is located at the Morale Welfare Recreation Department, Blue Angel Park, Outpost Store and Marina, 2100 Bronson Road, Pensacola Florida. The purpose of this position is to perform as Receptionist at the Outpost Store and marina.
Duties
- Incumbent is responsible for the efficient operation of the reservation and information desk during all shifts and the promotion of good customer relations at all times.
- Provides work assignments and instructions to subordinate personnel assigned to the activity.
- Reviews the schedule of functions taking place, to include daily, weekly, and monthly requirements to assure proper utilization of assets available to the activity.
- Performs a variety of tasks related to stocking merchandise for selection by customer or in a stockroom. Required to observe and project the amount of merchandise needed to maintain stock levels. Typically this includes refilling stock on shelves and display counters. marking proper selling price on a variety of different kinds and sizes of items, completing inventories by counting stock on hand. Responsible for end of month inventory activity reports.
- Arranges and confirms pavilion reservations where applicable. Registers, assigns, and maintains dry storage berthing contracts and billings as well as scheduling pavilion rental reservations for special events
- Answers questions pertaining to pavilion reservations, on park facilities, or various activities available in the area.
- Maintains daily, monthly, and up to date data base of all berthing contacts and transient patrons assigned to all pavilion and dry storage spaces. Maintains daily, up to date reservation and usage logs of patrons renting pavilion and rental boats and equipment. Maintains daily, up to date reservation and usage lots, or contract forms for all gear rental items.
- Maintains daily, up to date reservations for all requests for future pavilion rentals and boating classes.
- Enters daily registrations, money transactions, and related data into RECTRAC point of sales computer program.
- Collects fees and issues receipts for pavilion rental facilities, boating related equipment rentals and resale items during assigned shift.
- Keeps current records and prepares reports pertaining to the daily and ongoing operation of the activity. Maintains and safe guards change funds assigned, daily cash receipts for rentals and dry storage berthing, and resale items. Makes daily deposits at the end of assigned shift.
- Ensures assigned spaces and gear issue equipment is kept clean and in good operational condition.
- Keeps housekeeping records of pavilion rental room, customer complaint log of rental boat discrepancies, and related equipment. Passes this information onto the maintenance staff for immediate action.
- Maintains sub-custody of all property and equipment assigned to the desk clerk operation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation.
- Work schedule is flexible and will vary as required by the needs of the program to include night, weekend, and holiday shifts as well as split days off.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of high school education.
- Must have general knowledge of clerical work, operation of a cash register, adding machine, computers, resale procedures, inventory control and NAF policies as they relate to cash handling and safe guarding of funds.
- Incumbent must be able to operate a cash register and computer systems.
- Must have a general working knowledge of Marina operations to include dry storage berthing, sailboat, and related gear rentals.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with subordinates, officials, campground and boating patrons.
- Must have a pleasing personality as incumbent will meet the public in the performance of duties.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate both orally, and in writing.
Education
A high school diploma or GED is required.
