Job Summary:
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 800 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
This position is located within the Office Supply Service and House Gift Shop under the Customer Experience Center. The Office Supply Service supports House offices with goods and services required for their congressional duties, while the Gift Shop provides souvenirs and gifts to Members, staff, and the public. This position does not include day-to-day supervisory responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Office Supply and Gift Shop merchandise, offering guidance and technical expertise to junior staff.
- Lead and maintain the web content strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and consistent brand presentation.
- Conduct market, customer, and social media research to support product development and digital marketing improvements.
- Manage daily website operations, performing routine audits to ensure accurate product information, pricing, and messaging.
- Partner with Communications and key stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that enhance customer access and digital engagement.
- Utilize data-driven tools to monitor performance and recommend improvements that support revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Analyze customer feedback and sales data to strengthen promotional activities and service standards.
- Provide concise, high-level reporting to leadership to support informed decision-making.
- Identify operational challenges and communicate potential resource or process constraints.
- Support retail operations during peak periods to uphold Customer Experience Standards.
- Represent the organization at special events, including off-site conferences, to promote programs and increase institutional sales.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related discipline and 3 years of professional work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 2 years of specific experience with:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skill in providing high-level customer service and maintaining professional relationships with internal colleagues and the general public.
- Digital Proficiency: Advanced working knowledge of automated office systems and e-commerce platforms.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability (KSA) Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency with automated office systems, e-commerce platforms, and core digital tools.
- Preferred experience with web technologies and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Knowledge of modern communication and marketing strategies, particularly related to digital and social media engagement.
- Ability to learn, retain, and communicate detailed information on Office Supply and Gift Shop merchandise.
- Preferred experience in digital photography, image composition, and use of AI tools to support content creation and workflow efficiency.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical skills for evaluating data, identifying issues, and recommending process improvements.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently and collaboratively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skill in providing high-level customer service and maintaining professional relationships with internal colleagues and the general public.
- Professional Development: A demonstrated commitment to self-development and continuous learning to maintain professional competence.
- Institutional Knowledge: (Preferred) Understanding of the Office of the CAO, House Rules, Committee policies, and relevant legal requirements.
