Duties
Reviews and reports on security risks, concerning communications, and potential threats that may impact the Senate community. Reports on security risks/concerns/persons of interest involving possible or actual threats to Senators, staff, the Capitol, and/or offices, and provides regular updates and applicable advice regarding these incidents. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with local and federal law enforcement, public safety, and intelligence agencies; assists with the coordination of security initiatives. Implements outreach efforts, training, and security assistance to Senators, committees, and senior level Senate staff in relation to physical security, personal protection, and other matters as appropriate. Reviews publicly available information and conducts open-source research to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that provide insights into threat and security issues. Represents the SAA during major events involving the Senate through operational security planning, comprehensive action plan documentation, and on-site event presence. Operates as a representative in designated Command and Operations Centers, as needed. Other duties as assigned
