The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted to serve as the subject matter expert for the Services (3M) career field within the Force Support Squadron; managing all Services Prime Readiness in Base Services (Prime RIBS) activities, advising on and providing guidance to local leadership.

Duties

  • Plans, organizes, and manages the day-to-do activities of the Services function.
  • Manages the combat readiness of Sustainment Services.
  • Principle advisor to Senior Leadership on all Services Readiness issues.
  • Acts as Resource Advisor, Lodging Liaison, and Food Service Coordinator.
  • Ensures completion of required administrative duties. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for a small workforce.

  • Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in a commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
  • Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • Position requires the incumbent to obtain and retain a security clearance as designated by security access requirement (SAR) code.
  • May be required to work overtime to meet special workload demands.
  • The position has been locally designated as Mission Essential (ME); needed to ensure the continued operation of mission essential functions of the activity.
  • Mission Essential personnel may be required to report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions,

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes the planning, organizing, guidance, personnel training, and management of administrative tasks that support and ensure mission readiness of the unit.

EDUCATION:
Threefull years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR LL.M., in a related field. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the mission, organization, programs and functions, to include wartime requirements.
2. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical, evaluative, and investigative techniques to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of Services deployment operations, programs, and activities.
3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, and precedents that affect programs and associated support resources.
4. Knowledge and understanding of a comprehensive range of staff concepts, objectives, policies, management/ organizational techniques, and military command.
5. Knowledge of operating programs throughout the wing in order to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive operating programs.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and assign work, and to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Skill and ability to prepare project and staff reports, and to deliver briefings to high-level officials, both civilian and military. Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and assign work to subordinate employees.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary, although some physical effort or exertion may be required. Extensive walking and standing are required if incumbent is involved in mobility operations, exercises, and deployments. Unique working hours and long periods of overtime are commonly required during mobility operations and exercises.
Work Environment: Work typically performed in an office setting. At times, exposure to the elements in all weather conditions is required. Incumbent may be exposed to hazardous environment based on the contingency situation; therefore, appropriate clothing regarding the environment and terrain is required to prevent discomfort, injury, or accident.
