Duties
- Work independently or as part of a team with routine commissary tasks.
- Operate an electronic checkout system (cash register), and making correct change.
- Receive change fund and check cash drawer.
- Perform a variety of duties involved in the handling, preparing, and maintaining of stock levels of grocery and produce items.
- Place stock on shelves or display counters.
- Participate in receiving, storing, pricing, and displaying fruit, vegetable, working supplies and equipment.
- Participate in conducting inventories and maintaining records of orders, receipts, and sales.
Conditions of Employment
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- The work involves frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and handling of commissary products weighing up to forty (40) pounds without assistance; work also involves prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, performing clerical, office, or other work experience that demonstrates the ability to do repetitious work accurately and knowledge of basic arithmetic skills.

Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
